1Check your error historyFree On the DPC-18, open SETTING > Information > Error Code. It shows your last 10 codes (E-CODE 1 is the most recent). "00" means no error. Write the codes down for the shop.
2Switch on with your hands off the throttleFree Switch off. Then switch back on without touching the throttle. Many systems check that the throttle is fully released at power-on.
3Turn it off and on againFree Switch the display off, wait 30 seconds, then switch it back on. If the code clears, note what you were doing when it appeared, in case it comes back.
4Check that the throttle springs backEasy Press the throttle and let go. It should snap fully back on its own. Make sure nothing, like a grip, bag or cable, is pressing on it.
5Check the throttle plug and cableEasy Switch off. Follow the throttle's cable from the handlebar to its plug. Pull it apart, check for bent pins or water, and push it back together firmly. Look for pinches where the bars turn.
6Check the cables where the handlebars turnEasy Turn the bars fully left and right while watching the cables at the front of the bike. Look for pinched, stretched or flattened spots.
7Swap in a replacement throttleModerate Throttles are cheap and plug in. Match the connector type and your system's voltage. If the new one works, you're done.
8Have the controller testedShop job If the wiring checks out, the controller may be faulty. A shop can test it and replace it if needed.
